It's Snowing ...

 ... Geese.

In addition to the fog in my bins, we had to contend with a thousand or so Snow Geese when we were looking for the Lapland Longspur.

That Longspur is there, somewhere, in the brown patches. The geese would, as shown, occasionally get up and fly around. And the little birds would often then be spooked up and fly about as well. Remixing the flock, making the search that much harder.
