In addition to looking for a mate, now is the time for many critters to find (or maintain) a home.
I just don't think this Blue Bird box is right for this Northern Flicker.
We had the same problem with our first real estate agent, showing us inappropriate properties. Ones that didn't match the criteria we had provided her.
The Flicker has only itself to blame.
A pair of Flickers was later seen checking out one of our owl boxes. It seems the Squirrels made a better offer.
