Worm-eating Warbler

Yet another warbler that has come to visit the water features in our Feeder Garden.

A Worm-eating Warbler. This is a bird that nests in mature forests with a dense understory. The nest is a cup on the ground. As I've noted before, the understory around here is anything but dense. The deer have seen to that.

So while we've only seen this one bird it would sure be nice if the deer fence and the return of the understory in our yard had something to do with this bird being here.

In the feeder garden we have two raised bird baths, the ground level bubbler bird bath, a mister above these three bird baths, and a small pond (home to frogs and Pickerel Weed). The combination of the bubbler and the mister seem very alluring to these birds. The 90+ °F temps are a likely factor as well,

Bye-bye.
