In the Warblers post, I said I was looking forward to Sunday. And another bird we've had in the yard, but usually just passing through during migration, the Rose-breasted Grosbeak, put in an appearance Sunday (and again today).
This is a female. The males have the rosy breast. It is a bit early for migration, so we were wondering if maybe they were breading around here, as they do breed just north of here. And we tried to turn a ratty House Finch into a young grosbeak.
It seems the word is out, that our yard is the place to be.
