Recall from the "Battle of the Septic Mound" posts, that I'm trying to establish a ground cover on the septic mound that is native and does not require mowing.
Today I found this growing there:
I've an app on my phone, "Seek" by the folks at iNaturalist. And Seek ID's this plant as Ivy-leaved Morning-glory:
"Cool", I thought, "A native plant". Based on the big green "Native" tag at the top. Then I read the description, which includes this bit, "... native to the tropical parts of the Americas ...". Now, it may be hot and humid around here, but it ain't the tropics.
Perhaps that word doesn't mean what they think it means?
