Yard Critter - Milkweed Tussock Moth

Wednesday's caterpillar, the Milkweed Tussock Moth Caterpillar, Euchaetes egle.

Patty spotted these as well.


In the early installs they are a bit gregarious.


For large values of "bit".


The milkweed plants are mostly defoliated at this point ...


... with these caterpillars looking for a meal on a stalk with no leaves. Kinda like the situation the Monarch caterpillars found themselves in last week. It will be interesting to see what happens with these critters.

Two days prior to the above images, the caterpillars looked like this.


Today, five days since the above image, there is no milkweed left. And the critters are nowhere to be found.
