Mouse Trap

Recently, the Carolina Wrens have been gathering nesting material. And it looks like they are flying up to our attic to make their nest. This may not be a good idea.

Today I went up to see if I could find the nest. I could not. I'm guessing it is in the vent from our oven.

While up there I noticed at least half a dozen snake skins.

Including this one:

With the snake still in it. You can see one of the shedded skins in the background.

It seems I woke it from its slumber. A very nice Black Rat Snake.

Explains why most of the mouse traps were empty.
