Looking For A New Place

I noted in the Yet Another Sign of Spring post last April that the Eastern Phoebes had returned to their traditional nesting place over the light fixture on our shed.

Well this year they seem to checking about for a new nesting site.

Above the leftmost diagonal edge of the closed garage door is a small platform, installed no doubt to encourage birds to nest there. For as long as we've been here no birds have done so. But those readers with sharp eyes may see a Phoebe on the platform.

There were two for them checking it out. This is the second of a presumably mated pair.

I've not seen them around this platform since. And later in the day I spotted them checking out a light fixture at the front of the house.

I wonder where they'll wind up this year?
