More Flamingos

And on the other side of the world from Kenya, in the Galapagos Islands, we saw these.

American Flamingos.

Once considered conspecific with the Greater Flamingo (which we saw in Kenya), that is no longer believed to be the case.

We saw these on two of the Islands, Floreana and Isabela.

The first Flamingos I had seen in the wild. I had gone chasing in the Florida Everglades, but without success.

Maybe someday, when it is safe to go traveling again.

For now, it's the pictures and the memories.

We went to the Galapagos less than a week after we moved into this place, in July 2014. And we took at least one trip out of the US every year since then. Our trip to Kenya was in 2015. Except last year. And maybe this year too. I so miss traveling.
