It Has Risen!

The Weeping Willow Tree, or at least what's left of it.

In the Fall Down Go Boom post, I told the story of one of our Weeping Willows, and how it had fallen on Christmas Eve.

So it is only appropriate that rise up on the day before Easter.

And now it is part of our Dead Tree Garden.

We hope the woodpeckers like it.

When digging out the hole left then the tree toppled, so as to have a place for the 'roots' such as they were, to fit back into I found this:

Rusted wire. I'm not sure if it held the root ball together, or if it was to help anchor the tree. It it was the latter it failed. It is now reburied to someone else to discover and wonder about one day.
