In the Pileated Woodpecker post I noted that I'd be watching the new suet feeder hoping the woodpeckers would make use of it.
I wasn't, although I probably should have been, expecting this.
An Eastern Gray Squirrel.
You can see (bigafy!) that the chicken wire creates a grid over the suet cakes, holes that a woodpecker's bill can easily fit through. But not so easy methinks for a squirrel to get a the food
Yet we see it munching away. It stayed for a good fifteen minutes, so it must have been having some success.
