Slightly Less Itsy Bitsy

But still very small, six millimeters small.


Hentzia palmarum, a jumping spider. My favorite kind of spider.

Usually found on the lower branches of tree and shrubs, I know not why it was on the top of our recycling bin. It did seem in a hurry to get off.


This is a female, the males being dark brown above and black below, with a white band between. I've not seen one, yet. But if they are small and it the trees it might be a while.

I am noticing more of the small critters that share our yard. So maybe it won't be as long as I think.
