Wildlife Right Outside My Door

It seems that Eastern Garter Snake has shed its skin and is back on the prowl. Or maybe it's another one.

Either way, maybe I had better close the door? I first spotted it in the pose above, and it stayed there while I went to the other end of the house to get a camera.

And then it started heading toward the door. And just as it was approaching, an Eastern Chipmunk ran right by.

And then stopped to do a double take. And froze in place for a good three minutes, watching the snake as it slithered into the front garden plants.

A cool little drama literally right outside my front door.
