Also known as the Common Grackle.
As seen here, and noted before in this blog, these birds sure live up to their name in our yard.
The males are quite colorful, as seen in the linked post and in the individual shown below.
The females similar but a bit drabber. And the juveniles are brownish.
In winter they gather in large flocks, often with other blackbirds. They can be found foraging on farm fields in our area.
But as we've seen when snow covers that landscape they descend on our feeders. And thus they become yard critters.
