Fledgeling

My last update on the Eastern Phoebes nesting outside my home office was the More Phoebes post back in July.

A couple of lighting strikes, a new-is computer, and trips to the Adirondacks and New England have somewhat delayed updates ...

So these images are from July. July 12th to be exact.

When the last fledgeling left the nest. And landed on the deck just outside my desk window. So of course I grabbed my camera.

I don't know if it was hot, distressed at my presence, or calling for mom and dad. I did have a 600mm lens, so I wasn't that close. And after I went back inside it flew away.

I hope it is out there somewhere enjoying life. And maybe it will return next spring to raise a brood of its own.
