Dinner Time

It has been noted before on this blog that we put peanut butter out for the Southern Flying Squirrels that call our yard home. And it has noted that resident other critters enjoy the peanut butter as well.

It seems that as winter approaches, and food becomes scarce, the action picks up outside out living room window.

The Northern Raccoon is obvious above, but note the Southern Flying Squirrel at the top of the image on the right tree trunk.


At the same time there were three Virginia Opossums, two above and one below.


There are five flying squirrels surrounding the raccoon in the shot below.


While it is very hard to get an accurate count as they don't stop moving, there were double digit squirrels that night.


In this image we have an opossum, a raccoon, and just to the left of center, looking right at me, was a White-tailed Deer. (You can also see reflections of our Christmas lights in the window, candles on the left, our tree on the right.)


It is quite the show every night.
