The company I worked for before my current employer fired a manager in December because he had the audacity to bring eggnog, including some with alcohol, to the office at Christmastime. He was dismissed the very next day after this egregious transgression.
In contrast, my current employer, as part of it's holiday activities, sponsored this chap:
Simeon Priest, of the Equal Parts Cocktail Company, to host a Virtual Cocktail Class.
Fun and informative, Simeon walked us through the construction of two cocktails, a Candy Cane Mojito and the drink shown below, a Gingerbread Old Fashioned.
And while I won't be tending bar anywhere in the near nor far future, I did quite enjoy the presentation, the process, and the result.
And lest you think that this was possible only because we're all working from home, last year this company brought bartenders into the office for a holiday happy hour. It is very refreshing to be treated like adults. And it pays off, as even in the Year of the Pandemic, we achieved record revenue.
Worth celebrating so ...
