Fox

The reason Patty wanted the dead deer was to attract critters. Specifically a Bald Eagle. And while I've recently seen Bald Eagles on deer carcasses while driving to work, they seem uninterested in the perfectly good carcass in our yard. Very disappointing.

But all is not lost.

A fox has been visiting for the past several evenings. Or perhaps multiple foxen. Hard to know as the trail cam is failing, images only in focus at the edges of the frame. Very disappointing.

The fist image was from early Tuesday morning. The second from Thursday morning.

And the last from Friday evening.

We've only seen a fox on our yard once before, outside our living room window. A Gray Fox, which is likely what this one is. Although Red Fox is a possibility. Very cool either way.

Patty got me the trail cam for Christmas some years ago. It is a Moultrie 1100i, a model no longer made and long out of warranty. I emailed Moultrie to see if the camera could be serviced. Alas, the answer was no. And as it was out of warranty I was not eligible for a replacement. However, they gave me a code for half off and free shipping on any of their current trail cams. And my new camera is on the way. That's service.
