It's been a while since I posted about the suet feeder on the tree. This last post, on December 8th of last year, detailed the changes I had made to the feeder, to deter whatever critters had been breaking it open and stealing the suet.
Here is what it looks like today. Still intact.
So after four months of using the feeder, I now declare victory over the yard critters!
Now, as to why I put it up ...
... we've seen Downy Woodpeckers ...
... and Red-bellied Woodpeckers ...
... and Hairy Woodpeckers ...
... and Northern Flickers.
But no Pileated Woodpeckers. Not yet anyway.
I know they're out there ...
