First of Season

Spotted on September 28th by my robot that's watching the Back Bubbler these days, a White-throated Sparrow.

I thought I might have heard one last week, calling only once, but this marks the official FOS sighting this fall of these winter visitors.

Or rather winter residents. White-throated Sparrows spend their summers breeding in Canada and their winters in our yard. And elsewhere in the lower 48. But they really like our yard.

We not seen nor heard one of these birds since the 28th, so this one was likely just passing through. Soon enough though their "Old Sam Peabody Peabody" Song will be filling the yard.
