365 Theme 6: Abstract

No art historian I, perhaps more impressionist than abstract? Pine trees reflected in a pond along Quaker Bridge Road. Another image from my Saturday ride through the Pinelands.

A lovely abstract! How did you do it?

@ Jo: My Abstract image was an attempt to get a nice sharp reflection of the pine trees in a pond. Alas, mother nature had other plans, and as I was shooting a breeze came up, leading to ripples on the water. This is what breaks up the image into all the "disconnected pieces".

As t the technical aspects of how I did it:

Camera: Canon 50D
Lens: Canon 24-105 mm L at 105
Mounted on a tripod.
ISO: 200
Aperture: f/11
Exposure: 1/8 second

I shoot RAW and process in Photoshop CS3 / Camera RAW

I did some slight color adjustment to bring up the green foliage, along with levels adjustment and that's about it.

I had thought it might be a deliberate camera shake. Thanks for the explanation.

I bet the water was nice and smooth right up until you pressed the shutter! ;) It still turned out to be a very nice shot.

Reminds me of Monet's waterlilies.
