Mrs. Ducky Lucky, as we like to call her, that is. Although perhaps "Unlucky" would be a better name. Because as you can see below, she has a problem with her foot, and is quite lame when on land.
But given that she survived the winter with her bum leg, maybe "Lucky" is right after all.
Patty first spotted her before dinner last night as she was working in the garden. After dinner we went for a walk and we saw a pair of mallards fly over us and toward our yard. Sure enough when we got back home Mr. Ducky Lucky was in the pond as well. This is the third year in a row that they've been here at our back pond.
It is amazing how simple things like this can make one smile.
