Sweet! Did you actually take the shots in that order?

Oh - such a cute sequence of photos and perfect for the theme! I love the empty hole in the middle of all that textured aged wood, too.

@ Julie. Yes and no. I first heard the squirrel while shooting in the village. I thought some part of the building was falling down there was such a racket! When I walked over to see what it was I saw the squirrel go in the hole. So I walked up close and to get a shot, but I had the wrong lens ( a 24-105 zoom). I could see the squirrel in the hole and took shots as it poked its head and tail as it turned around) out. Once I had those shots I went back and switched lenses, to a 100-400 zoom, and went back. I approached and set up, the squirrel would look out at me and I'd get some shots and move a few steps closer. This would chase the squirrel back in the hole and the sequence would start again. After several rounds of this I figured I had enough shots (turns out I took 68!). So while yes I have several sequences in this order, these three a the sharpest and not from the same round.

@ Karen. Thanks. If you look closely you can see the squirrel in the first image inside the hole. Click on the picture to see a larger version.

@ Everybody else. Thanks.
