In this case water vapor. From a nuclear power plant cooling tower. One of three such plants within 50 miles of where I live.

From the same spot as I made this image, I also photographed three different great horned owls, all of which were calling at each other.

The tower against the blue toned background and smoke is awesome, really nice capture. My grandpa used to be a steamfitter at the nuclear power plant near here, I don't think that is a job I would ever want!!

My second wife used to get the vapours like that, I used to hit the road real quick. Ah Memories

That's fantastic! Were you there to capture the owls or the power station??

Great shot! Are we ever sure it's just harmless water vapor?

This is fabulous, I like the power line tower contrasted with the cooling tower.

Love the shades of gray & the starkness of the tower. 3 nuclear plants within 50 miles? Wow!

That is scary, I have never been that close to nuclear power. There are some plants here in VA, but several hours south. Guess I'll stay away from north eastern breezes. Great shot and nice colors.
