Adjust the brightness and contrast of your monitor so that you can view each of the 17 grayscale steps from black to white. Special attention should be given to the black end of the scale. The darkest step should be made as dark as possible while you are also able to distinguish it from the next lighter step.

That is just what happens when a mob of Cockatoos scatter, I love it did you supply the motion or use a motion nlur please. Ron (P.S. I intend stealing your idea BTW)
@ Danudin: This is similar to your "Oops" shot. I was using a 100-400 mm lens, handheld, and trying to track the birds. The goal was to get sharp birds with a blurred background. I got the blurred background part. But the exposure was to long to freeze the birds. The only post processing was a slight saturation boost in Camera Raw.
And I grant you a non-exclusive, royalty free, license to use the idea. See, now it isn't stealing.
